Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Our history is inextricably tied to infectious diseases and humanity’s attempts to overcome them. As healthcare professionals we are part of a global community, inter-dependent, here to serve and protect our people, and preparing and readying ourselves to respond to potential threats. As academics, clinicians, scientists, researchers, epidemiologists and public health professionals, it is in our capacity to bring together the local and international ID community to share and exchange information, and to learn from each other.

After the successful inaugural conference in 2015, SIIDC returns on 24th to 26th August 2017. Themed Changing Paradigms in Infectious Diseases SIIDC 2017 will bring together a plethora of knowledge of clinical and scientific topics from zoonotic to vector-borne diseases, respiratory infections, current and emerging pathogens, and innovation in research and development of infectious diseases. The conference aims to address current gaps, new challenges, and research breakthroughs through a compelling line-up of presentations from renowned and leading speakers in their fields.

SIIDC will be your unique opportunity to gain insights and a global outlook on the latest developments in the world of IDs, while collaborating with your peers on-site. With three concurrent streams of presentations to choose from, alongside multiple plenary sessions, SIIDC promises to deliver rich and relevant content that you can directly apply to your everyday work. We invite you to join us on this enriching journey and learn from the past, be prepared for the future, while living in the present in our fight against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
